Exciting Day
Today was pretty exciting! I found out about a possible first mother connection, profile is almost complete, and I am almost finished with my fundraiser set up.
I did not realize until I had to do the profile book that I do not have many pictures of myself. So even before sending in my information for the profile book I contacted photographers to take some really nice pictures. However, they seem to be all booked up and I need something, yesterday! Thanks to my friend, Deborah, and her daughter Tracie they offered to take the pictures for me. I am so greatful, merely saying "Thank you" seems that it could not be enough.
One such is for bath and body care. You can purchase the items from me. I have ordered the Lip Balm and Fireless Candles to sale. If you would like to support me but are not in my local area please go to www.ladybugblessings.com and order items online. HOWEVER, please make sure that you put that you are purchasing items to benefit my adoption in the Comments section in order for me to get credit.
I have also will be selling t-shirts and those websites should be up and running by the end of the week!
There have been some busy and long nights this week but it is paying off and all the hard work is beginning to show.

Where I am now?
I started my journey a few months ago around January and had no idea what someone goes through with adoption, especially when you are doing it as a single parent. It took me awhile to find AND be comfortable with a HomeStudy Agency and Adoption Agnecy. Yes, I knew adoption was also expensive but that is another beast to overcome. So basically this is where I am:
* Approved Home Study complete and in hand? CHECK!
* Applied to Adoption Agency? CHECK
* Applied to Referral Agency? CHECK
* Applied to Grants and Loans? CHECK! CHECK! CHECK!
* Dear First Mother Letter and Profile complete? - Currently being worked on. After many weeks of trying to do it myself, I became too frustrated and decided to pay someone to do it for me.
* Finding alternative ways to finance the adoption? - Well I contacted a couple of companies to send me information to start fundraising with them. One is a really neat idea to sell Lip Balm and the other would be T-Shirts. I am especially glad that I found the T-Shirt site because I would much rather make a little less profit to avoid having to handle the shipping and ordering myself. I just do not have the time to do everything since I am single. I am just picking my battles and resourcing out what I can.
Now is just the waiting game. Waiting for my profile to be complete. Waiting for the loans and grants that I applied to tell me if I have been approved. Waiting for the companies to get back with me about the fundraisers. Most importantly, waiting for a First Mother to choose me. Lots of waiting, it is a good thing that I am patient.
Also, I found this site called www.chipin.com here you are able to add a donation counter to your website. It is linked to paypal, which makes it easier to use on both sides. I will be keeping that up along with other links to any fundraising ideas I establish.
